Sales through comments: “price” under the post → lead in the bot

· Command CHBT · Comments, Sales

Under a post in a channel or community, the same question almost always appears: “price?”, “how much does it cost?”, “how to order?”. It takes a long time to answer everyone manually, and giving the price directly in the comment means giving it to all competitors in the thread and not finding out who exactly asked. The working scheme is different: a person writes a code word under the post, the bot responds in the thread and takes him into a personal conversation, where selection, lead and payment are already underway. In CHBT this is collected in the “Editing” section by the code word rule. Let's look at how it works, where the link in Telegram and VKontakte leads, why it won't work in MAX, and what to honestly say about the limitations.

Why a comment is a good selling point

A comment under a post is a person who has already seen the product, became interested and took a step: wrote. He's warmer than a cold follower, and his intent is clear in the text. The problem is that the comment is a public place: it is unprofitable to respond with a price in front of everyone, and conducting a transaction in a thread is inconvenient - there is no product card, no payment, no history.

Therefore, the task of the comment is not to sell, but to switch: quickly answer and give a link to the bot, where the sale is already underway according to your flow. In CHBT, this is done by the code word rule: it catches the desired word in the response and takes the first step for you, and then the person gets into a conversation with a bot that can select a product and collect an lead. We discussed how to draw the line between a post, a comment and a personal conversation in the article what the bot can do for a Telegram channel.

What does the code word rule do?

The rule lives in the section “Editorial” → response rules. You choose a platform and a source - Telegram discussions, a wall or VKontakte products - set code words and a list of actions. When a word is encountered in a comment, CHBT executes a short chain:

  • The answer is in the original thread. One predetermined text - in the same place where the person wrote. For example: “Prices and availability are in the bot, here is the link 👇.”
  • Contact tag. To then filter out in “Contacts” everyone who asked the price under this post.
  • CRM lead. A card in Kanban with a note indicating which comment it came from.
  • Link in the bot with a transition label. A one-time tag is tied to the author, channel and post - it shows where the person came from.

Up to 30 words or phrases per rule: you can catch a single word, part of the text, or the entire comment. Case, “ё” and “е”, extra spaces CHBT normalizes, so “Price”, “price!” and "PRICE" will work the same. The rule does not comply with arbitrary regular expressions - this was done intentionally so that a random pattern does not start catching other people's words.

Where the link leads: Telegram and VKontakte

The main action is a link to your bot. It is not simple: a transition mark is added to it, by which the bot understands that the person came from a specific comment and launches the desired branch of the script.

B Telegram the link opens the bot with a launch command with a label, in VK — transmits the tag to the community upon the first message. In both cases, the person finds himself in a personal conversation, and then the usual flow works: greeting, selection from the catalog, collecting an lead, payment. That is, the comment only brings a person, but the same bot sells as in other channels.

An important detail about the tag: the conversation in PM starts only the action of the person himself - its transition via the link. The bot cannot write first to the person who left the comment, and does not automatically “pick up” the person. This is a limitation of platforms, and not CHBT: without the first step of a person there will be no PM. Therefore, the text of the response in the thread should clearly invite you to click on the link.

In order for the tag to reach the desired thread, the script editor has a “Comment on post” trigger and a “Reply in comment” block, and the personal bot script must have a regular start trigger. How labels and transitions in the bot generally work is shown on the page QR codes and links — there is the same tagging mechanism, only from offline.

Why won't this work in MAX?

CHBT collects comments in MAX and can respond to them, but there is no transition to the bot from a MAX comment yet: the platform does not support a link-button with a tag in a comment the way Telegram and VKontakte do. Therefore, in the rule for MAX, leave the answer in the thread, tag and lead, and use the link in the bot where it works.

This is an honest limitation, and not a flaw in the script: if the results for MAX show zero transitions to the bot, this means that the site does not have such mechanics, and not that the analytics are broken. You can sell in MAX in another way - by posting a link to the bot and a code word already in the bot itself; how it works is discussed in the article about the bot in MAX.

Anti-spam: one response per author and post

Without restrictions, the code word easily turns into spam: a person writes “price” five times - and the bot responds to him five times in the thread with the same link, clogging the discussion. This does not happen in CHBT.

On one author and one post the rules give one automatic response and one CRM lead, no matter how many times a person repeats the code word under this post. Under another post, the same person will receive a response again - this is a new reason. An unsuccessful response attempt also takes up a limit: if the site rejects the submission, the auto-reply does not go out again, and you will sort out the case manually in the response card.

The operator's manual responses are not limited: the limit applies only to automatic rule actions. You can always reply to a person in a thread manually, even if there has already been an automatic reply.

Setting procedure

Let's assemble the diagram step by step.

  1. Connect channels and platforms. In the “Channels” there is a Telegram bot and the VKontakte community; in “Editors”, add sites and wait until the rights check shows reading and responses in the comments. Telegram requires a discussion group linked to a channel with the same administrator bot.
  2. Prepare a bot script. The one that will sell in PM: greeting by tag, selection, collection of leads. If there is no catalog yet, collect it on the page script editor.
  3. Create a rule. Platform, source, code words (“price”, “want”, “order”), response text in the thread, tag, CRM lead and link in the bot.
  4. Check out the preview. The rule will show whether it matches the text without performing any action. The new rules are disabled by default and only work on comments created after they are enabled; old responses are not processed retroactively.
  5. Turn it on and see the results. On the “Results” page you can see the rules triggered, the links sent and the bot launched on them.

What you honestly can’t do and what to remember

So that the scheme does not promise too much:

  • The bot will not write first. A person enters a personal account only himself, using a link. This is a limitation of Telegram and VKontakte.
  • While the response is pending for moderation, the rule is waiting. If a comment is triggered by a review rule or requires reconciliation, the code word is not answered until it is resolved. This protects against spam responses.
  • Anonymous and modified responses are ignored. The rule works based on new comments with a famous author and a connection to the post.
  • The results will not show reach or views. The “editorial team” counts deliveries, responses, leads, and clicks to the bot, but not post views or reactions—platforms do not report these numbers correctly.

Even with these frameworks, the combination works: a public comment turns into a personal conversation with a tag, and then a regular bot sells. Where the auto-response ends and a person connects - in the analysis about transfer of conversation to the operator. You can assemble the rule and script using the free plan: open “Edit” →
