Giveaway bot template: subscription, numbers, results
The template creates a giveaway draft in the “Giveaways” section and an entry flow for it. A person taps “Join” in the post, and the bot checks the subscription to your channels and issues a number. At the set time the bot re-checks the subscription, picks winners in a way that can be re-checked, and messages the winner. Participants stay with you in “Contacts”.
Suitable for: Telegram channels, VK communities, MAX channels, Shops and brands
How it works

You’re in the “3,000 ₽ gift card” giveaway. Your number is 0042. Results — 15 November at 18:00.
What the template creates
A giveaway in CHBT is a separate “Giveaways” section. The template creates a giveaway draft there and an entry flow: a “Deeplink” trigger with the giveaway label leads to the “Giveaway” block, which checks the conditions and issues a number, and a “Giveaway event: winner” trigger starts the “Giveaway” block in “Prize handover” mode. After creation the giveaway card opens — there you set the prize, channels, dates and rules.
The “Giveaway” block replies to the participant itself: “You’re in… Your number is 0042”, “You’re already in”, “Subscribe to the channels below and tap “Check again””, “Couldn’t check the subscription — please try again in a minute”, “Entries are closed”. The texts can be changed in the giveaway card, and the flow can be extended in the editor.
What to set up before launch
- Bots — which bots people join through: Telegram, MAX, VK; you can pick several.
- Channels to check — your own and sponsors’. In Telegram and MAX the bot must be a channel admin; on VK the subscription to the bot’s community is checked.
- Prizes by place, the number of winners and the reserve.
- Deadline — a results date or a number of participants.
- Rules — the generator builds them from the organizer’s details; you can link your own instead.
- Optional — a “not a bot” check, friend invitations, manual review before results, a message to the other participants (only those who agreed to mailings).
“Start” checks that everything is ready: plan, channels, flow, no “Payment” on the way to entry, and for MAX — approval of the contest by MAX. A draft “Join” post appears in Studio.
Results and handover
At the set time the bot re-checks the subscription, fixes the list of numbers and picks winners and a reserve from a secret number whose hash was published at the start. The giveaway page on chbt.io shows the list, the record and a “Check in browser” button. The winner gets a message; the bot asks for the handover details and, separately, for consent to publish their name; a deal is created in “CRM” for each place. No reply in time — the place goes to the next person in reserve. More on the Telegram giveaway bot page and in the article how to pick a winner fairly. Create a giveaway.
Frequently asked questions about the template
Can I run a giveaway on the Free plan?
To try it — yes: one giveaway, one channel to check, up to 3 winners. But Free has 30 conversations a month, so there won’t be more participants than that. Basic — up to 3 giveaways, up to 5 channels and 50 winners, friend invitations and handover in CRM.
Does the bot need to be a channel admin?
In Telegram and MAX — yes: otherwise the platform won’t tell the bot whether the person is subscribed. For a sponsor’s channel, the sponsor must add your bot as an admin. On VK the subscription to the community the bot is connected to is checked.
Can entry be paid?
No. If there’s a “Payment” block on the way to entry, the giveaway won’t start: paid entry looks like a lottery.
